Blog 5: A Photograph.

I have always really liked visual art, paintings and photographs, color and shadows, contrasts and the atmosphere or the feelings that the image can leave on us.
I had a hard time deciding which photography to comment because I liked many of them, but finally I decided on this one, taken by the photographer Rocío del Valle, on March 3rd, 2019. Looking at some of Rocio del Valle's photographs, I highlight positively how a minimalist photograph achieves, that despite the extreme simplicity in the image, she manages to convey a message.
Although I prefer photographs where color and contrast leave a lot of content, I chose this photograph for the narrative it contains, that search or mystery behind each shot, that woman who does not know if she is lost, is searching or has already found. The composition of the image really caught my eye, the balance it achieves and the color transition that Rocío uses. Undoubtedly, in these days of confinement, anyone would love to be feeling the fragrances that nature gives us, all in all, I think that the photography that has the most value is the one that takes us to places where the soul undresses.

Blog 4: Movies and series

Perhaps for many people watching movies or series is one of their favorite hobbies. Personally I am not very fond of the world of cinema, but if I have to remember a movie that I really liked, I would say it was " Cartas de Van Gogh" , not only for its content, but also for the way in which each scene is composed, since this is the first completely handmade oil-painted film, the first oil-based feature film. The story is told through paintings made by the artist himself.

The idea comes from Dorota Kobiela, who along with her husband, Hugh Welchman, recruit a number of team of filmmakers, actors and painters. While reading "Van Gogh's Letters", Dorota realized that the life of the artist could be told through his own paintings.

Van Gogh passed away in 1890 and the film is based on his mysterious death. Armand Roulin, the protagonist, is the one who must deliver the last letter written by Van Gogh addressed to his brother. When Roulin finds out that his brother had also died, he begins a new search to deliver the letter, in his mind, he really wondered what had happened with Van Gogh's death, did he commit suicide or was he killed?
